renew

Ever started the day empty?

Depleted?

Dry?

Welcome to the club.

Anyone who has served the Lord for any length of time has experienced spiritual fatigue or exhaustion. After all, we’re only human. That’s why God doesn’t ask us to serve Him in our own strength.

In fact, He promises to renew our strength as we wait on Him.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.—Isaiah 40:31

This year, the Daily in the Word devotions will center on the theme of renewal. Each devotion will include a Scripture and provide an encouraging or admonishing truth regarding the Christian life. At the close of each devotion, there will be a single distilled thought given as “Today’s Renewal Principle.”

If you are not currently receiving these daily devotions and would like to begin, there are three ways you can access them:

  • Subscribe via email. This free subscription brings a daily devotion and your Bible reading directly to your inbox every day. Simply visit dailyintheword.org/subscribe to subscribe. (And I promise that we will never sell your email address.)
  • Subscribe via RSS. This free service will update your RSS feed daily with the same text as in the email. Use the link www.dailyintheword.org/feedburner-rss.xml
  • Visit the website. Bookmark dailyintheword.org/today in your browser, and visit it daily.

It’s exciting to consider the potential for a new year when you live it renewed in the strength of the Lord. I pray these daily devotions encourage you throughout the year  to look to the Lord and live with a heart renewed in His promises.
