While en route to Israel for the Holy Land tour which we’re hosting, Terrie and I had a long layover in England where we got to visit several Baptist heritage sites. We also got to visit two Baptist missionary couples in London. It was a blessing to on one hand thank God for our heritage and on the other visit with people currently carrying the torch.
Our church has the privilege of supporting the Bunnells (pictured above center, with their two sons) who are planting churches in London. They are doing a great job winning souls and also helping to train Baptist leaders in Muslim countries.
It was good also to see Nick and Alicia Unger, West Coast Baptist College alumni (2011), who are serving alongside the Bunnells in London. (The Ungers are pictured above left with their daughter.) I’m thankful we were able to have a part in preparing them for Christ’s work in England.
I’m so aware of how plenteous the harvest fields of souls around the world are, and I’m thankful we have the privilege at WCBC of training laborers for His harvest. But I’m also mindful that we need to continually pray for more laborers.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.—Matthew 9:37–38
