Paul keenly felt his responsibility to remind Christians that they would one day stand before the Lord. In 2 Corinthians 5:10 he wrote, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
Just as a competitor in an athletic competition stood before the ancient bema seat to receive his reward, it is a blessing to know that we will one day stand before our Lord and be rewarded for faithful service to Christ. May we live each day with that thought in mind!
