Do you see any disconnect between the incredible news of the gospel and the effectiveness of biblical Baptist churches in reaching our communities with it?

Jesus commanded us, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). And He clearly said, “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21).

Yet, Christ’s mandate must be one of the most disobeyed commands in all of Scripture. The vast majority of Baptist churches are seeing little fruit and few baptisms.

Why? Why don’t we evangelize?

In this Growth Points video, I’d like to share with you five specific reasons I’ve observed for this contradiction between Christ’s command and our obedience.

(If you cannot see this video in your RSS reader or email, you can watch it here.)

I’m sure there are additional reasons to those I’ve mentioned in the video, and I’d love to hear your feedback on those. In fact, if you can think of other difficulties along these lines that you’ve had to fight in your life or in the church where you serve, shoot me an email

May God help us to make soulwinning a priority and to share the gospel today with someone who needs to know the love of God.
