Every Christian wants to be an effective witness for Christ. But every Christian also knows the many challenges pulling at our time and attention. If we are not intentional about our witness, we will not be effective in it.
As we prepare for our fall season of outreach, here are seven practical, biblical ways you can be a more effective personal witness.
- Be Caring
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36)
- Be Intentional
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
- Be Relational
“He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.” (John 1:41)
- Be Clear
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
- Be Prepared
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” (1 Peter 3:15)
- Be Prayerful
“Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds.” (Colossians 4:3)
- Be Faithful
“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9)
