Jerusalem

Terrie and I arrived one day ahead of our group in the Holy Land and were privileged to attend a luncheon for supporters of Israel. The luncheon was primarily designed to encourage Christian and political leaders from America and Europe to continue their education regarding the needs of Israel.

We were thankful for the opportunity to meet the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkot, and hear some of his vision for the city.

I also met members of the Israeli Knesset from a caucus that promotes relationships with Christians worldwide. They are truly grateful for believers who stand with Israel.

We were interviewed by the local television news station, and I was able to share that the Holy Land is meaningful to us because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary for our sins.

I was also able to share our conviction regarding the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.—Genesis 12:1–3

I believe one of the reasons God has blessed the United States has been because of our support for Israel. Pray that our country will continue to be an ally to Israel.

Please pray also for our group as we begin our tour of the Holy Land. Pray for safety as we travel, witnessing opportunities, and biblical insight and spiritual growth through this trip.
