If there is one asset we need on a daily basis, it is wisdom. Throughout Scripture, and particularly in Proverbs, God makes His wisdom available to us.
For many years, I’ve enjoyed reading a chapter from Proverbs each day, reading through the entire book every month. In A Word to the Wise: Practical Advice from the Book of Proverbs I’ve written a devotional reading from the book of Proverbs for every day of the year. I’ve also included cross-references from many other portions of Scripture as well as a Bible reading schedule at the bottom of each page that will lead you through the entire Bible in one year.
The emphasis in these devotions is on application, and each reading concludes with a distilled truth that you can apply immediately to your life. (For examples, you can see dailyintheword.org/today.)
The text for each day’s reading actually corresponds to the chapter in Proverbs that matches the day of the month. (For instance, the devotion for January 1 comes from Proverbs 1, the devotion for July 16 comes from Proverbs 16, etc.)
Beyond your personal reading, this hardback book makes for a beautiful gift. At Lancaster Baptist Church, we will be giving a copy to every first time guest. (Currently, we give out my earlier devotional.)
Striving Together Publications is releasing the book this week, and for it’s release, they’ve put together bonuses and special offers:
