What a joy it is to have our campus filled with teenagers for Youth Conference this week. And what a joy to encourage young people to see what God can do in and through their lives when they yield to Him.
Our theme this year is “The Power of God,” and we’ve already seen His power at work in hundreds of lives during this conference.
West Coast Baptist College students helped set the tone last night as they presented a stirring drama on the conversion of Saul of Tarsus. Dr. Goetsch followed with an excellent message on God’s power to work through each person who will say “I will” to Him. Many wonderful decisions were made.
More decisions have been made in the sessions this morning as Kurt Skelly and Cary Schmidt preached. High school seniors attended WCBC classes this morning. This afternoon, the teens are off to Magic Mountain, followed by another service tonight.
You can catch our remaining services tonight and tomorrow morning via livestream at wcbc.edu. Tonight’s service is at 8:00 (Pacific), and tomorrow morning’s sessions begin at 8:30 with a closing service at 10:30. (A special joy to me is that my son, Larry, will be preaching tomorrow morning at 8:30. Thank you for your prayers for him these past several months.)
Please pray for the remainder of our Youth Conference. We need these young people! And God desires to prove His power through their lives: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Update: The 2011 Youth Conference, “Step into the Cause,” is April 6–8. Visit wcbc.edu/yc for details and to register.
