God has given us an incredible commission: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). He’s given us many resources to see this accomplished, but we are prone to forget one of the most basic—time.

Each of us has twenty-four hours in a day, and we are responsible to make every moment count for Christ! Sometimes it helps to remember the simple truths about time:

  1. Time is a gift from God.
  2. Time is a life. When we waste time, we’re wasting our life.
  3. Time lost can never be retrieved or replaced.
  4. Time is your most precious commodity.

God holds us accountable for every minute of the time He has given us. To accomplish the task Christ has given us, we must budget our time (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly) as the precious commodity that it is—”Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).
