As Christians, we each can possess attitudes that quench the Spirit and attitudes that invite the Spirit. May we live each day of our lives in a way that is inviting to the Holy Spirit.
I recently taught our staff this principle in our weekly staff meeting. I hope it will be a blessing to you.
The Spirit That God Blesses
- The Spirit of Humility
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6
- The Spirit of Gratitude “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
- The Spirit of Faith
“Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3
- The Spirit of Flexibility
- The Spirit of Commitment
- The Spirit of Compassion “And of some have compassion, making a difference.” Jude 22
- The Spirit of Understanding “He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.” Psalm 17:27
