Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
Webster defines the word season as “a time characterized by a particular circumstance or feature” or “a period of the year characterized by or associated with a particular activity or phenomenon” (Merriam Webster.com)
Well, we are certainly experiencing a change of season as we enter the month of December! The period of year we are now entering is marked by a busier schedule, an intensity of celebration, and hopefully a greater focus on the miraculous incarnation of Jesus Christ. This is a wonderful season and a time where our worship of Christ is especially meaningful.
Beyond the immediate seasonal changes however, Terrie and I sense another season of change upon us. It too will bring a time of rejoicing, as our daughter Danielle will marry her fiancé Peter in a few days. We thank God for a godly daughter who has faithfully read God’s Word daily since her salvation as a young girl. We are thankful for a godly and pure young man who will lead her and love her for God’s glory.
Yes, the season is changing, but God is faithful and His Word and His grace have proven real in our lives. Christmas will be a little different this year, but it’s going to be a great season to worship Christ with our growing family!
