Father's Day Weekend
Last weekend I had the privilege of celebrating Father’s Day with my family and church family here in Lancaster. The Lord truly blessed in our services as I preached on the subject “Consider His Lordship.” It was a blessing to see many fathers determining to follow the Lord as committed disciples of Jesus Christ. Additionally, there were a number of people who accepted Christ as Saviour at both morning services.A Praying Grandmother
My Grandmother Chappell, who lives in Cortez, Colorado, spent most of last month in the hospital. Due to the critical nature of her heart problems, Terrie and I drove quickly back to Colorado to spend some time with her. My grandfather went home to be with the Lord last year, and we felt we should take this opportunity while we could.
A Time to Come Apart
Vance Havner often said, “If we do not take time to come apart, we will come apart.” Terrie and I are thankful that we have been able to take some time away from the normal rigors and challenges of ministry and spend some time together as a family the last several days. Our oldest son Larry and his new wife Ashley stayed faithful here in the ministry at Lancaster Baptist, but we were able to take Kristine and Matthew and spend some time resting and relaxing with them. Our oldest daughter Danielle and her husband Peter were able to join us for a few days of our vacation as well. It is always such a blessing to spend time one-on-one with our family members, reminiscing about God’s goodness and enjoying time with one another.
Larry's Wedding
Last week it was a great joy to travel to the Seattle, Washington area for the wedding of our son, Larry, and his beautiful bride, Ashley. Through the years, we have prayed for each of our children daily. I have also prayed that God would provide godly spouses for each of them.
Momentum
Tonight I attended the Lancaster Baptist High School Varsity basketball game. I enjoy basketball, and I love being with our church family. I especially enjoy watching our youngest son, Matt, play in his senior year.
One of the things that always strikes me in basketball is the “Momentum Factor”. Momentum swings from one team to another so quickly in high school sports! Ultimately, however, it seems like momentum stays with the athlete or the team that remains focused and diligent in their disciplines.
Danielle's Wedding

Terrie and I thank the Lord for each of our four children. Last weekend was Danielle’s special time, as she was united in marriage to Mr. Peter Mordh from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Peter is a senior here at West Coast Baptist College and has surrendered his life to full-time ministry.
The Blessings of a Christian Home

Of all the events to take place in our lives or ministry this year, none are as important to Terrie and I as our daughter Danielle’s wedding this Friday. We were just finishing Bible college when she was born, and I honestly have been amazed that this day has come so quickly. We have always felt that our family is our first ministry, and I have prayed daily for twenty four years that God would bring the right man into her life. We are thrilled that Peter came to West Coast Baptist College where he met Danielle, and we covet your prayers for them as they begin to serve the Lord. About a year or so ago, Danielle wrote me the following note. I think she was trying to help me through the transition of watching her fall in love!
To Every Thing There is a Season
Well, we are certainly experiencing a change of season as we enter the month of December! The period of year we are now entering is marked by a busier schedule, an intensity of celebration, and hopefully a greater focus on the miraculous incarnation of Jesus Christ. This is a wonderful season and a time where our worship of Christ is especially meaningful.
